Latest beauty obsession: MAC’s long wear lip-stain marker. For anyone who loves lipstick but hates that it wears off too quickly, it’s a must have!  This lipstick has a felt tip so application is flawless, even, and fool proof.  One coat gives a fabulous hint of color and more make for an intense, bold color.  Unlike other long lasting lipsticks, it does not dry out your lips and works perfectly under any kind of balm or gloss.  It comes in many colors but my favorite so far is a fuchsia called, ‘stylesetter.’

French pop sensation Phoenix plays an unplugged set in what NPR calls their “Tiny Desk Concert” ( Phoenix recently played at Kansas City’s Uptown Theatre – we had a chance to photograph it, check it out: Phoenix Live Kansas City ). In the NPR offices, Phoenix plays a short 12-minute set but packed with songs off their recent album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. It is quite amazing the amount of punch, melody and emotion the band can bring with just two acoustic guitars and a tiny Yahmaha keyboard. Check it out on Phoenix in NPR Acoustic.

My pick for this week is one of the seasons best examples of the embellished trend for the season. It’s the beaded tank dress from Alice & Olivia. In person it is simply stunning! The beaded details flow throughout the dress and flatter the body, while shimmering and sparkling. However, the neutral tone keeps the dress from being too over the top. This dress is so chic and beautiful. Wear it to any spring/summer event and you’ll surely be the best dressed there!

This year, April showers brought May flowers, but also chilly weather. She began to work alongside Dotan at his dye house, Pacific Blue Inc, which is notorious in the fashion industry for its unique techniques and fresh use of color. After having studied the business closely for years, the pair noticed the need for truly unique garments in the contemporary apparel market. With Dotans experience as a garment dye and print business owner, they had a competitive advantage that could conveniently bring Osi’s creative visions to life…and thus Gypsy 05 was born.
