I know we have all heard how important water is in our diet. Some of us get the proper amount daily and some of us think by gulping water while we workout or at night before we go to bed hydrates us. Some of us even think the 4 servings of large cokes each day can hydrate us. “WRONG! You’re sitting the bench with that performance.” Continue Reading…

Most of us don’t realize the importance of a strong core. The core of your body, AKA your trunk, is the center of all your movement. With a weak core your percentage of back injury goes up almost 70%. The other important fact about your core is it controls how effective you are at doing anything else with your extremities. With a strong core, your lunges will be more effective for tight lean legs, your bicep curls for the girls will be more isolated. Let’s not forget that flat washboard stomach we all dream of. These thoughts will no longer be a dream but become a reality.

Question:
I quit drinking regular soda and switched to diet. I don’t feel any different. Is diet soda really better than regular soda? ~ Jessica

Thanks for your question Jessica. No. Diet is a fake out word. What makes a diet soda diet are artificial sweeteners and preservatives. QUESTION:
“Now that spring is coming, what can I do to tone my legs for shorts and skirts?” – Jill Dorsey
ANSWER:
The best exercises to tone your legs fast are variations of lunges and squats. A simple forward lunge making sure you land with your heel then toe as you step into the lunge then drop straight down to the center of your stance. Pushing back with the heal to the original position. Continue this movement pattern while alternating legs for reps between 20 and 30. (10-15p/leg) Same can be done by doing a reverse lunge. Same technique but step back, then drop your body to the center and step back forward. As you get comfortable with either of these try switching up the order or alternating forward lunge, backwards lunge for your rep count. Always remember the more you can do simple exercises in multiple variations the better your body will respond. Try adding some simple body weight squats for 10- 20 reps in between sets for a super blast to tighten your legs. -Kevin Hall
