Fall Style Essential: Leather Jacket
by Daniel Cummings on September 22nd, 2009 in Fashion, Oxford

I become obsessed with articles of clothing, I think about and wear them almost endlessly. Some people have the self-control to not wear something they love everyday, I am not one of those people. Last fall I finally threw down on a leather jacket I wore it with everything, from tees to a shirt and tie (You can imagine my excitement when Kansas City started to experience an early fall).
The leather jacket so much encompasses American style, from Marlon Brando on a Triumph motorcycle to…come on, Brando pretty much sums it up. Leather jackets are just cool, err the right leather jacket is just cool. Want my opinion? Here is it.
-
Go smaller than you think you need to, leather jackets should be fitted so size down.
-
Black or brown, but mostly black.
-
Fur collar bomber jacket? Negative ghost rider the pattern in full (unless it was actually used in WWII, in which case go nuts).
-
Zippers only, no buttons.
-
Seriously, buy it fitted. Nothing is worse than a bulky, boxy leather jacket on a guy.
Remember that leather is meant to be worn, people pay a lot of money to get the broken in look. Wear your jacket with pride and wear it often!
