I become obsessed with articles of clothing, I think about and wear them almost endlessly. Some people have the self-control to not wear something they love everyday, I am not one of those people. Last fall I finally threw down on a leather jacket I wore it with everything, from tees to a shirt and tie (You can imagine my excitement when Kansas City started to experience an early fall).
The leather jacket so much encompasses American style, from Marlon Brando on a Triumph motorcycle to…come on, Brando pretty much sums it up. Leather jackets are just cool, err the right leather jacket is just cool. Want my opinion? Here is it.

  1. Go smaller than you think you need to, leather jackets should be fitted so size down.

  2. Black or brown, but mostly black.

  3. Fur collar bomber jacket? Negative ghost rider the pattern in full (unless it was actually used in WWII, in which case go nuts).

  4. Zippers only, no buttons.

  5. Seriously, buy it fitted. Nothing is worse than a bulky, boxy leather jacket on a guy.

Remember that leather is meant to be worn, people pay a lot of money to get the broken in look. Wear your jacket with pride and wear it often!
